...and I Am Still Obsessed With My Niece

I didn't think it was possible, but Olivia is getting softer and more deliciously mushy as the days pass. And the fact that she is able to make eye contact and smile when you're holding her is just too amazing to describe.

Olivia is now eight weeks old. Before she was born, I feared I simply wasn't going to be able to fully document her life if I didn't take a picture of her everyday (this really happened). So an eight week old person has been alive for 56 days. Some simple calculations have fully allayed my fears...a quick check of the 'ol Flickr account shows that 558 photos are included in my "Olivia Abigail" collection, averaging out to a little under 10 photos per day. Phew! (It is true that I don't get to photograph her everyday, but I'm trying to remind myself that it is better for her sense of self and my relationship with my sister and brother-in-law that I refrain from the daily photograph plan.)

I got the chance to spend most of this past Monday with Liv (also known as Liv the Lima Bean, Livy, Crazy Boots, and Livypants) and my sister. We set up a tiny photo shoot in the apartment (and when I say "set up a tiny photo shoot," I mean we draped a purple blanket over some furniture). The results are fabulous! I now have a new official Liv PR shot. And here it is....

In addition to the photo above (basically the best photo in the world), I love the "photo shoot outtakes" also because they are just so cute too.

I got to accompany Sarah and Liv to THE Breastfeeding Center (bet you didn't know such a place existed, unless you are Debbie S. in which case it is probably your favorite store). Photos and a brief recap of that priceless experience will follow in a separate blog post.

About Me

My Photo
When I am not busy helping non-profit organizations raise money online to change to the world, I leverage my status as a DC native (and expert Googler) to recommend products, restaurants, recipes, and shops (in addition to other things I find mildly diverting) in my blog, Wild and Crazy Pearl. The photos and witty banter are all mine, and don't belong to my lovely employer. I spend too much money on Itunes and lots of time in Planned Parenthood board meetings. My favorite possession is the cobalt blue Kitchen Aid mixer I used part of my Bat Mitzvah money to buy (it is still going strong). I also enjoy wearing hooded sweatshirts, drinking grapefruit juice, and falling asleep with the TV on.
