Churchill HS Reunion

I spent my first evening in Austin with fellow Churchill HS graduate and one of the best bloggers around, Jodi B.! A BIG thanks to Jodi for putting together such a fun night complete with stops at a funky Austin wine bar/converted house with big porch for sitting, a DELICIOUS BBQ place with outside picnic tables and really great pulled pork, and a local Austin ice cream stand with "ironic" cashier and beer flavored frozen treats.

I loved everything about my evening with Jodi and friends (friends being Jodi's well connected, tech savvy, photography loving, food blogging, locally cooking and eating, socially conscience, and hilarious following of other Austin young professionals who drank and dined with us).

I am not sure if I can sum up our evening in a few telling vignette or even decide which was my favorite destination or topic of conversation. Was it the time that Jodi discussed the recent purchase of www.tastytouring.com? (In case you haven't noticed, I recently purchased www.wildandcrazypearl.com and am loving my URL owning lifestyle.)

...When the conversation turned to who was going to the SXSW food blogging panel!? Or the hushpuppies at The Green Mesquite? It is unclear, but I highly recommend all three of our very Austin authentic destinations and am only feeling a tad sad that Austin is not located a bit closer to DC so I could go tasty touring with Jodi and crew more often.

Emily G - We had SUCH a lovely and fun night with you. Adam loved your lack of pretense (I think it reminded him of another Churchill HS grad). Hope to see you soon and come back to Austin anytime. Hook 'em!

I am so happy that you guys got together. It kills me that I wasn't there with you, but can't wait to come to Austin sometime soon! xox

Great meeting you! Thanks for letting David and me tag along on your Austin-Churchill-HS Reunion. (Also thanks for the kind blog mention.) Looking forward to seeing much more of you around here when you officially become Mrs. Mayor of Austin!
Cheers, Betsy

About Me

My Photo
When I am not busy helping non-profit organizations raise money online to change to the world, I leverage my status as a DC native (and expert Googler) to recommend products, restaurants, recipes, and shops (in addition to other things I find mildly diverting) in my blog, Wild and Crazy Pearl. The photos and witty banter are all mine, and don't belong to my lovely employer. I spend too much money on Itunes and lots of time in Planned Parenthood board meetings. My favorite possession is the cobalt blue Kitchen Aid mixer I used part of my Bat Mitzvah money to buy (it is still going strong). I also enjoy wearing hooded sweatshirts, drinking grapefruit juice, and falling asleep with the TV on.
